Our Team

Shelley has worked in the recreation field for over 24 years. She worked for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for 14 years. During this time she held several positions including Park Naturalist, Park Program Manager, Park Service Associate – Lead and Western Region Nature Tourism Coordinator. Her duties included environmental education programs, guided hikes and canoe trips, Junior Ranger programs, school programs, Scales and Tales Raptor Program, teambuilding, and functioning as liaison between guides, outfitters, guests and hospitality businesses. She was awarded a Governor’s Citation for the creation of the Nature Tourism program at Rocky Gap State Park in 1999 and was recognized by the National Association of Interpretation – Beltway Region with the award for Outstanding Outreach Programming in 2000. She has training in Leave No Trace, Inner Quest safe challenging adventures, Swift water rescue, Nature Quest, American Canoe Association, and Red Cross – Canoe. Shelley has a deep love, appreciation and passion for the natural resource and natural resource based recreation.

Tom was a Ranger with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources for 13 years. In addition to his law enforcement duties he was also a Canoe Guide for state operated trips on the Potomac River offered through Green Ridge State Forest. Tom has led guided hikes and provided interpretive programs for the State Forest and Park Service. He also designed and constructed the 12-mile mountain bike trail in Green Ridge State Forest. He has training in Ice Rescue, First Responder, Leave No Trace, American Canoe Association and Inner Quest Team Building and Challenge. He has served as a coach for Special Olympics Maryland Downhill Ski Team. Tom is an avid kayaker, skier and enjoys biking.

Brandon started in 2005 as a high school student and quickly became eager to learn all aspects of the business. We can honestly say since hiring him he has taken the lead at one point or another in all aspects of the business. He truly is a jack of all trades. Brandon has worked as our point of contact with management at Omni Hotels & Resorts and Crestline Hotels & Resorts, planning and creating the activities that our company could provide. He has guided/led trips, tours and events ranging from canoeing, kayaking, biking, hiking, off road Segways, side-by-side (UTV), archery, children activities, corporate team building, and more. Brandon also led the way in managing our front of the house aspects at resorts including guest services, public relations, and event planning, winning an Omni Service Champion Award in 2014. From 2009-2019 Brandon was the Geocaching and Orienteering instructor at the fall Maryland DNR’s Becoming and Outdoors-Woman event. He’s also the kayaker in many of Allegany County, The Mountain Side of Maryland’s tourism promotions. Brandon has been trained in the American Canoe Association, Project Adventure Certifications, Omni Hotels Hospitality, CPR, and First Aid. In his free time he enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and geocaching.
